Legal Aid Cell of Dogra Law College organized a seminar to mark “World Day of Social Justice” i.e. on 20th February in collaboration with District Legal Service Authority, Samba. The purpose of the seminar was to facilitate discussion on the topic “Social Justice in India”
Nine Students of B.A, LLB 5years, 1st semester namely : Vanshika, Mohit Singh, Aditya Singh, Garima, Aryan, Manya, Prachi, Diya and Shammi presented their paper on the topic “Social Justice in India”and elaborated the concept of social justice. A range of ideas were put forward by the participants. The event started with the Lighting of the lamp.
Kr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust was the guest of Honour. He in this Keynote address said that Social Justice is one of the basic principles for peaceful living. He further emphasized upon the importance of social justice in India. The constitution of India guarantees social justice for the people of this country. But, the need of the hour is to ensure the proper and balanced implementation of policies to make social justice an effective vehicle for social progress.
The seminar began with the welcome note by Prof. V.P. Magotra, Principal, Dogra Law College. In his welcome address he emphasized the need to promote Social Justice which includes efforts to remove poverty, access to health, wealth and equal opportunity to all without any discrimination.
Mr. Tufail Ahmed, Representative of District Legal Service Authority, Samba was also presented on the occasion.
The Event finally concluded with the vote of thanks by Ms. Parema Bakshi, Lecturer, Dogra Law College and their distribution of certificates to the participants by the guest and principal.
