A Legal Aid Clinic was inaugurated today at Dogra Law College by the District Legal Services Authority Samba.The Legal Aid Cell was inaugurated by Sh. Mohammad Akram Chowdhary, Member Secretary, J&K State Legal Services Authority and Sh. M.K Sharma, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Samba Ms.Swati Gupta, Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Samba. Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and Chairman, Dogra Educational Trust, Kr.Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust and Col. (Dr) K.N Padha Director,Admn&CD Dogra Educational Trust also graced the ocassion.Legal Aid Clinic serves two fold purposes the first that it provides free legal services and legal advice, the second it directs the energies of Law students in contributing towards social cause. Mr. Mohammad Akram Chowdhary in his address emphasized upon the importance of legal aid to weaker sections in India and regarded it essential to all those who are not able to pay for legal services. M.K Sharma while addressing the students stressed the importance of Legal Aid Clinics for weaker sections of society. Such clinics also contribute in developing future civil right lawyers and activists.Prof. V.P Magotra, Principal Dogra Law College, accorded warm welcome to the dignitaries.
