Dogra Law College organised a guest lecture on “Intelletecual Property Rights with special reference to goeographical Indications”. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Professor Department of Law University of Jammu. During the lecture Dr. Sanjay Gupta explained that IPR “is a general term for assignment of property rights through patents, copyright and trademarks”. He expounded geographical indications by stating that it is a sign used on product that has speicific geographical origin and possess qualities or reputation that is due to its origin.
