Dogra Degree College and Dogra Law College under the aegis of 4 J&K NCC BN, Jammu conducted a Trekking Expedition near the Ram Nagar Wildlife Sanctuary. the whole event comprised of three activities viz 7 km trekking, Collection of Single Use Plastic in the forest area and photographic competition. At 8.00 AM, 30 NCC cadets from Dogra Degree College and Dogra Law College under the able guidance of their CTO's Mr. Desh Bandhu and Mr. Rishavh Bakshi along with Army Instuctor Havaldar Vinod Kumar, 4 J&K NCC BN Jammu started the trek. Cadets were enthusiastic and motivated to contribute towards the growth and protection of nature. During the 7km long expedition, Cadets collected single use plastic from the forest area along the track.
On the same day, NSS unit of Dogra Degree College organised a plantation drive in Primary school, Bassi Kalan to mark the World Earth Day Celebrations. The plantation Drive by 25 NSS Volunteers in the village school was ably supervised by Mr. Balwant Singh NSS Programme Officer DDC with full support from Ms. Aditi Khajuria, faculty DDC. The ground was cleared and pits dug to plant the saplings. The NSS volunteers planted around 30 saplings and pleged to plant a tree on the same day every year as a initiative to keep mother Earth green and pollution free. Prominent among those present on the occasion were the ward members (Mr. Tarsem Lal) and the head mistress along with the other staff members of the Govt. Primary School, Bassi Kalan.
