NSS unit of Dogra College of Education organized an Inter College online essay writing competition on 21st of June, 2020 on the occasion of International Yoga day. The theme of the occasion was “The power of yoga and how yoga can make a difference in life”. The programme was held under the supervision of Mrs. Amarjeet Kour, NSS programme officer, Dogra College of Education.
Twelve Colleges participated in this Inter College online essay writing competition. Among those who participated in this competition were K.C. College of Education, Bhargawa College of Education, Chenab College of Education, Shri Vaishno Devi College of Education, Islamia Faridia College of Education, Sant Mela Singh College of Education, Guru Nanak College of Education. Students of various colleges expressed their views and importance of International Yoga day. They highlighted the importance of yoga and emphasized that yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient traditions. Yoga embodies unity of mind, body, thought and action and is valuable to our health and our well being. Yoga is more than a physical activity. It cultivates the ways of maintaining a balanced attitude in day-to-day life and endows skill in the performance of one’s actions. The international Day of Yoga aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga.
Ms. Nisha of Dogra College of Education and Ms. Abhya Thusoo of Dogra Law College were adjudged 1st, Ms. Vinu Dwinya of Dogra College of Education and Ms. Ashiya Jamwal of Chenab College of Education bagged the 2nd position and Ms. Manu Smriti of Dogra College of Education and Ms. Pooja Devi of K.C. College of Education were placed at 3rd position. Consolation prize was given to Ms. Neha Bharti of Vaishno Devi College of Education and Ms. Shivani Sharma of Bhargawa College of Education.
Kr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust and Dr. Vikesh Kumar Sharma, Principal, Dogra College of Education appreciated the efforts of the participants of various Colleges.
