Dogra College of Education organized inter college symposium on the occasion of International Women’s Day on 8th of March 2019. The theme of the symposium was “A Balance World is a Better World”. The programme started with the lighting of traditional lamp followed by the welcome address by Mrs. Roshy Sharma, NSS Programme Officer and with the prayer of Goddess Saraswati. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Chairman, Dogra Educational Trust and the Guest of Honour was Ms. Swati Gupta, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Samba. The programme was anchored by Ms. Anjali Rajput of B.Ed Semester IV and Taniya Sharma of B.Ed Semester II.In all, 14 students participated from Dogra College of Education, Dogra Degree College and Dogra Law College in the symposium. Participants of the symposium expressed their concern over the various issues and highlighted the problems being faced by the women notably dowry, female foeticide, infanticide, domestic violence and disparity in education. The judges of the event were Dr. Komila Aggarwal, Vice Principal, Dogra Law College, Mrs. Indu Puri, Sr. Lecturer, Dogra College of Education and Mr. Rajinder Kumar, Lecturer, Dogra Degree College. Prominent among those present on the occasion were Kr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust, Mrs. Bela Thakur, Principal, Dogra Degree College, Prof. V.P. Magotra, Principal, Dogra Law College and Mrs. Shefali Sharma, Academic Coordinator, Dogra College of Education.
