Dogra College of Education, Samba, 4th Feb 2019, organized an extension lecture in collaboration with Council for Teacher Education (J&K Chapter) on the topics ‘Constructive Approach” by Sr. Asst. Prof. Jaspal Singh, Distance Education Department, University of Jammu. The extension lecture started with the welcome address by Mrs. Indu Puri, Sr. Lecturer Dogra College of Education. She Said constructivist Teaching fosters the critical thinking, creates motivated and independent learner. The resource person addressed the staff and students of Dogra College of Education and said that constructive approach is based on observation and scientific study about how people learn. Dr. Vikesh Kumar Sharma, Principal Dogra College of Education in his concluding remarks said that there should be proper use of constructive approach in the real classroom teaching. Mrs. Shefali Sharma, Academic Coordinator Dogra College of Education said that in the traditional teaching teacher used to dominate in the class by way of transmitting knowledge considering children as passive receivers but in the constructivist classroom students are consider as active social players learning with all enthusiasm. Students and the entire faculty members were present on the occasion.
