Dogra College of Education organized a series of extension lectures on the topics ‘Teacher Education’ and ‘Communication Skills’ by Prof. Sushma Bala HoD (Department of Education and Prof. Sanjay Singh, HoD (Department of English), both from Govt. Degree College Akhnoor. Prof. Sushma Bala in her address said that teacher education is a programme that is related to the development of teacher proficiency and competence that would enable and empower the teacher to meet the requirements of the profession and face the challenges therein.Whereas Prof. Sanjay Singh delivered his lecture on ‘Communication Skills’ and emphasized that communication skills are essential for the successful future career of the students. Reading, writing and listening carefully are the three most important communications skills for the students. He also guided the students for group discussion, frequently asked questions in the interview, common grammatical errors in communication and how to communicate more effectively by making the communication more impactful, persuasive and confident.A formal vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Jyoti Raina, Lecturer who thanked the revered speakers for delivering their thought provoking lectures.
