Management, Staff and Students of Dogra Group of Colleges viz. Dogra College of Education, Dogra Law College and Dogra Degree College celebrated 77th Independence Day in the Dogra Educational Complex with great zeal and patriotic fervor. The celebration for the day began with the parade drill presented by NCC cadets of Dogra Law College and Dogra Degree College. Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister and Chairman, Dogra Educational Trust was the chief guest on the occasion. He hoisted the National Flag followed by National Anthem in the presence of students and staff of Dogra Group of Colleges. Welcome Address was presented by Mr. Inshab Ahmad, a student of BA LLB, 6th Sem, Dogra Law College. The event featured a series of Cultural performances that showcased the rich diversity of India. Students presented captivating dance performances, patriotic songs, thought provoking speeches and patriotic poems. The students who presented the cultural programme included Ms. Arushi, Ms. Vishali, Ms. Rohini (DCE), Ms. Bhoomi Thaper, Ms. Jyoti Devi, Ms. Meenakshi Devi, Ms. Stuti, Ms. Tsechu Lama, (DLC), Ms. Akshita, Ms. Taniya, Ms. Priyanka Charak, (DDC).

Speaking on the occasion, Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister and Chairman, Dogra Educational Trust highlighted the importance of the day, describing it as a day of grand celebration and encouraged the gathering to dedicate themselves to the Nation and work with commitment for the progress and prosperity of the Country and taking its glory to the greater heights. Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust remembered the relentless struggle of freedom fighters for liberating India from the colonial rule and exhorted the gathering to work hard for development of the Country. Prof. Darshana Sharma, Director, Dogra Group of Colleges & Campus Development highlighted the significance of Independence Day and encouraged the gathering to uphold the values of Equality, Democracy, Justice and Nationalism.

Prominent among those present were Dr. Vikesh Kumar Sharma, Principal, Dogra College of Education, Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal, Dogra Degree College and Dr. Avdhesh Pratap, Principal, Dogra Law College.

A formal vote of thanks was moved by Sr. Cadet, Gurbakshish Singh, Dogra Law College. Sweets were distributed after the programme. The programme was anchored by Ms. Janvi Parihar, Student of DLC.
