NSS unit of Dogra College of Education conducted a yoga session on
the occasion of “Eighth International Day of Yoga” on 21/06/2022.
The programme began with the welcome address given by Mrs.
Shweta Padha, student of B.Ed. Sem-II followed by speech and poetry
recitation by Diksha Sharma and Nikharika Kaith respectively. The
resource person on this occasion was Mr. Rishab Bakshi, lecturer in
Physical Education, Dogra College of Education. He performed
various Yoga Asanas like Surya Namaskar, Kapal Bharti, Tadasana,
Trikonasana and Shavasana and threw light on the importance of
various yoga asanas in our daily life. He also explained that regular
yoga practice creates mental clarity, calmness, relieves stress and
sharpens concentration. The student teachers along with all teaching
and non- teaching staff participated and performed various yoga
asanas under the supervision of the resource person. Prominent
among those who were present on this occasion were- Kr. Samar Dev
Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust, Dr. Darshana
Sharma, Director, Dogra Group of Colleges, Dr. Vikesh Kumar
Sharma, Principal, Dogra College of Education, Dr. Shefali Sharma,
Academic Coordinator, Dogra College of Education and faculty
members of the college. The session concluded with the formal vote
of thanks given by Ms. Akshita Mangotra, NSS volunteer of B.Ed.
Sem- II.
