A panel discussion was organized on Jammu and Kashmir Budget 2023 by the students of BA department on 04th of April 2023 in the college auditorium, wherein various aspects of the budget were presented and discussed in detail. The students presented the statistics and analyzed those in terms of the impact of budget allocation in specific sectors and expressed their opinions about its (budget) impact on Jammu And Kashmir’s economy. The panel discussion was conducted by Mr. Abhay Pratap Singh discussed on Social Inclusion, Mr. Rahul Bharti talked about Power Sector, Mr. Shubham Kumar represented Food Supply and Consumer Service, Ms. Janvi Kour discussed Industries and Commerce, Mr. Chiranjeev presented on Promoting Agriculture and its Allied Sectors, Mr. Jatin Sharma represented Education Sector, Ms. Nandini Bhau talked about Health Sector Growth, Ms. Aradhana Pandey talked about E-governance, Ms. Payal talked about Road Infrastructure, Ms. Akshita highlighted the Tourism in Jammu & Kashmir, Mr. Anuragh highlighted Rural Development & Ms. Tania Khajuria addressed the Issue of Unemployment. The audience comprising students & faculty members were informed about the process of resource allocations in the budget vis-a-vis the requirements in different sectors. The students mentioned that the budget is framed after taking due cognizance of certain compulsions- political, socio economic etc in Jammu and Kashmir, and cannot be all pleasing. The audience was involved in the process of discussion with the speakers and several relevant points were discussed in the process. The students had presented analytical skills in dissection of economic parameters on which the budget has its ramifications and scrutinized the road map chartered out by the Hon'ble Finance Minister during his speech on the budget 2023.
The event was presided over by Kr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust who while addressing the students appreciated the efforts put in by all the participants and congratulated the staff for undertaking an innovative discussion on the UT budget 2023. The event was coordinated by Ms. Rohini Saini, Faculty in Political Science and Ms. Shikha Gupta, Faculty in Economics, Dogra Degree College. Mrs. Bela Thakur, Principal, Dogra Degree College, Ms. Kanchan Dubey, Faculty in History, Ms. Aditi Khajuria, Faculty in English, Mr. Balwant Singh, Faculty in Sociology and Ms. Tina, Faculty in Education, Mr. Vishal Singh were the other faculty members present at the event. The event was hosted by Ms. Ritika Kundal of BA 6th Semester and vote of thanks was moved by Ms. Hansika Jamwal of BA 4th Semester. The event concluded with singing of the National Anthem.
