Dogra Degree College organized “World Environment Day” while covering the theme of the 49th World Environment Day which is “Only One Earth”. Only One earth advocates for transformative environmental change on a global scale. The campaign shines a spotlight on climate action, nature action and pollution action while encouraging everyone, everywhere to live sustainably.
The focus of this day is for transformative changes to policies and choices to enable cleaner, greener and sustainable living in harmony with nature. It will focus on our possibilities for shifting to a greener lifestyle through both policies and individual choices.
The transformative environmental change can only happen with measures including sowing of seeds, planting of trees, greening cities, cleaning up rivers and coasts, and rewilding gardens. The COVID pandemic has reminded mankind of the harm we have caused to nature and how important it is to protect the environment.
In keeping with its tradition of organizing such events Dogra Degree College organized a mango seed plantation drive to mark the day and to enlighten the students about this event. The whole programme was smoothly conducted under the able guidance of Ms. Palak Gupta, Lecturer in Environmental Science, Dogra Degree College with full cooperation from other faculty members. The efforts were appreciated by the Management and Principal of the College.
