In commemoration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, nationwide Clean India Programme the NSS unit of Dogra Degree College, Bari Brahmana organized a cleanliness drive in and around the premises of Mansar Lake. Under the patronship of the Principal of the college Ms Bela Thakur and supervision of NSS programme officer, Mr Balwant Singh and members of NSS Committee Ms Aditi Khajuria and Ms Simran Devi organized the whole visit. Around 30 NSS Volunteers participated in the campaign. The main purpose of the visit was to create awareness among the masses regarding cleanliness and its benefits. The volunteers themselves picked up a heavy amount of litter and plastics around the lake to set an example for others. The volunteers also made an effort to persuade the locals, shopkeepers and tourists not to throw garbage or litter in the vicinity of the lake so that beauty of natural resources and the lake may not degrade. Cleanliness drive in the Mansar Lake was a success. The volunteers were satisfied by their effort and the motivation they were able to provide in order to maintain hygiene and restore the beauty of the lake.
