To mark the Diwali celebrations, a Rangoli making competition was organized on the 02nd of November, 2021 in the premises of Dogra Degree College.
Rangoli as we know is an art form in India in which patterns are created on the floor in living rooms or courtyards using materials such as coloured rice, dry flour, and coloured sand or flower petals. It is usually made during Diwali (Deepawali), Onam, Pongal and other Indian festivals. Designs are passed from one generation to the next, keeping both the art form and the tradition alive. The purpose of Rangoli is decoration, and it is thought to bring good luck. The principal of the college appreciated the staff and the students for their enthusiasm and exhibiting their creative abilities in the competition.
The participating groups of BBA/B.A/B.Com students of Dogra Degree College made Rangoli patterns and the best three were awarded prizes. Nine teams in total participated in the competition and 3 teams were awarded prizes for their designs. The names of the members of the winning teams are as follows;
1st Prize winners - BBA 1ST Sem were Amit, Akshit, Isha & Vishali, 2nd Prize winners – B.Com 1ST Sem were Bhavya, Janvi, Ashu, Adit & Ruksar & 3rd Prize winners – B.A 3rd Sem were Sonika, Kajol, Rupakshi & Kritika.
The students made impressive patterns on the themes given to them. The judges of the event were Mr. Jeevan Lal ,Ms. Geeta Devi, Mr. Vishal Singh, faculty of Dogra Degree College. The competition was tough and the judges had a tough time deciding the winners.
The management representative Kr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary Dogra Educational Trust and Director Adm. & Campus Development encouraged and appreciated the students for showcasing their aesthetic abilities. The competition concluded with prize distribution and exchange of greetings for the upcoming Diwali festival.
