Dogra Degree College organized 52nd NSS Foundation Day under the
supervision and guidance of NSS programme Officer Mr. Balwant Singh with great
fervor and enthusiasm. The NSS unit of Dogra Degree College organised a lecture
on the topic "NSS - Origin and its significance in higher education" on the virtual
platform Google Meet. Ms Bela Thakur, Principal Dogra Degree College along with
all the faculty members of the college joined the event. Ms Aditi Khajuria,
Lecturer of English started the event with the welcome speech which was
followed by the lecture by Ms. Simran Devi, Lecturer of Environmental studies.
She discussed the origin and the significance of NSS and emphasized on the fact
that higher education institutions need to give special attention to NSS so that
more and more students are encouraged to be a part of the same. She also talked
about the enrollment criteria and focused on the motto of the NSS "NOT ME BUT
YOU".
The programme was taken forward by Mr. Balwant Singh by showing
various glimpses of the activities held during the session 2019-2021 of NSS. He
urged the students to sharpen their talent and potential to not only carve a niche
for themselves or bring laurels to the college but also aim to bring glory to their
state as well as the nation.
The NSS song was sung by the NSS Volunteers. The event finally winded up by a formal vote of thanks by Ms Aditi Khajuria, Lecturer of English.
