An online symposium competition and an online Quiz was organized by Dogra Degree college on 5th June , on the eve of World Environment Day. Both the event were organised by Ms. Simran Devi, lecturer in Environmental Studies under the guidance of Principal of college, Mrs. Bela Thakur. The symposium was organized on zoom platform at 11 am. Around 22 students of BA/BCOM/BBA Sem 2 participated in this symposium. Teachers of respective departments also joined this gathering to motivate their students. The topic of the symposium was “Ecosystem Restoration” which is the theme of this year’s world Environment day. Each student spoke for about 3 minutes and expressed his/her views in form of poetry as well as prose. The best speaker were as Ritika Kundal from BA , Mohit sharma from BBA and Daksh Barghav from B.Com.The judges of this competition were Mrs. Priyanka Sharma, lecturer in English and Mrs. Surbhi Kapoor, lecturer in Commerce. E-certificates were provided to all the participants of symposium.The speakers were judged for their quality of content and language proficiency. Along with symposium, participants also delightedly planted saplings in their home and did forward their picture with the sapling to the organiser.

The inter-college online quiz in google form was organized at 3 pm in which both staff and students of Dogra Degree College, Dogra College of Education and Dogra Law College participated. The topic of the quiz was “Environmental Pollution” on which 20 multiple choice questions were farmed. The quiz was planned for only 25 minutes after which no responses were accepted. The best scorers were Diya sharma,student of BA sem 2 Deepika Mangotra, student of B.Com: Dhamanjeet Kour,student of BA; Mohit Sharma, Student of BBA; Mohd. Asif, student of BA; Ms. Aradhana sharma , lecturer in Management; Arushi Sharma, lecturer in Management; Ms. Kanchan Dubey, lecturer in Arts. E-certificates were provided to the 70% and above scorers in quiz.
